We have had a growing problem with spray painting of our signs! We need to figure out who is doing this. It only raises our taxes to have the county come out and replace signs! The symbol painted on the sign near the boat launch is a gang sign. It might just be a kid painting what he’s seen, or something else. We need to find out. If you have any info please follow up! Thanks
I have two big concerns with living here. The first is that every time somebody burns, which is often, I have to stay in the house to avoid an asthma attack. Much of what is burned could be taken to the transfer center, and the ordinances do not seem to be enforced about what can be burned and when and getting approval first. Secondly, dogs should not be allowed to run free and unsupervised, for their own safety and the safety of others.
Thanks for your care and concern. I agree with not letting dogs run free. We have a light brown colored pit bull looking dog that often runs free. I have a 2 and 4yr old and don’t feel comfortable at all. This is why we have a constable. Let him know if you feel that the dogs a threat.
We have had a light brown pit bull running through our yard and the neighbors yards also. This same dog attacked one of the neighbors dogs. Another neighbor with children has chased the dog away more than once. The sheriff department has been called out at least once and a complaint has been logged. The dog resides at 33202-73rd street.
My reply is that if neighbors would pick up, or ofer to pickup the debrise from their 80 year old trees that falls into another neighbors yard that neighbor would not have to burn that debris including leaves, as far as free running dogs, fine if you clean up their mess, I hate mowing my yard and having to clean my lawn mower tires of dog doo doo in my yard.
I have called the sheriff’s dept several times to set up a formal neighborhood watch program, but keep getting the run around. We all watch our area in our neighborhood, but I think some “Neighborhood Watch” signs could act as a deterrent.
Back to the original concern…gangs and spray painting. I recently moved here from Chicago suburbs thinking I would get away from these issues and they seem to be out here as well. It’s unfortunate and we need to find a way to keep it out of our area. It will only lower our property value and the desire for families to move into the area. This is a concern of mine along with people constantly turning around in our driveway and parking on our lot without permission. When I come home at night I have no idea who is parked in my lot and if they are visiting our home, breaking into our cars or our neighbors home/cars. Last year I woke up on Christmas night to two cars in my driveway. (I had only been moved in for a few days). I originally thought i had nothing to worry about in the area only to find out one of the cars crashed into my truck creating thousands of dollars in damage. I think the worst part was loosing the good feeling about this area and it’s visitors. It’s a shame that people can damage property and steal without feeling guilt or responsibility. With everything going in around here we should respect property lines and communicate with one another. Perhaps speed bumps could also slow down cars so they no lo get fly down hilly and curvy roads…so noone else is a victim of a hit and run.
We were recently victims of yet another crime. One of our garage windows was shot four times (once per window pane) by a BB gun. There is no reason for someone to be on the part of our property let alone to shoot out our windows. Thanks to who ever did that or to the parents who have not taught their children to respect other people’s property.
Heather, Did you call and report your windows being shot out. Those types of crimes are fairly easy to solve especially if it has happened many times. Let me know if you need help.
No, I’ve lost faith in the police in this area. I called the cops moments after someone crashed into my truck on Christmas day, had a description of the cars, people, had blood in my driveway, pieces of the car and tire tracked leading to the house, and they couldn’t solve that crime. Why would I call for garage windows shot out after that? Lost faith.
Tonight an older car, possibly a cutless or Lincoln towncar (late 80’s) light in color possibly beige came down the hill heading towards the beach and shined its nights into our neighbors yard, tried to back into our drive way and then continued toward the beach. The backed into our other neighbors drive and passed our house again. There were several people in the car and seemed quite out of character. Please watch for this car, very suspicious.
Car drive past out house again twice. This time I jumped into my truck and followed them and got the plates. They were stopped in front of lot for sale for a bit. Plate # 367 TTS on a Wi plate. Older Lincoln Towncar light in color or similar make. Found out that a house alarm went off around 8:30pm which is same time I called police. I heard men yelling out to one another. Please watch for this car and another silver car like the one we had in the area last year. I saw several men in the car. Driver had a dark ball cap on with a straight rim. I believe passenger in back seat had blonde hair.
Update on last year’s thefts: As of May 1, we know that a father-son-uncle theft ring has been caught and sentenced to long (20+ years for the father) prison sentences. The State is leaning on the son to provide more detail on ring operation in order to reduce his own prison time. In each theft, the ring would stay under the $2500 felony theft limit. When caught however, they had about $40,000 worth of stolen goods in a garage. The uncle came from the West Coast and stole his way across the country. The serial # of one item he had matched an item stolen in Utah. One local person they stole from will not get his log splitter back (it’s gone) nor will he get restitution.
I can’t stress this enough, KEEP YOUR DOGS ON A LEASH OR ON YOUR PROPERTY! There has been a medium sized black dog with a red collar running around just north of the public beach. I tried to get the info off of the dogs collar, and It bit my hand. I won’t be held responsible if your dog bites me, or my children. Please for everyone’s sake keep your dogs under direct supervision.
Suspicious silver/white tracker stopped in front of our house 7926 334th ave and picked up boy dressed in black near swamp. Police drive past abou 5-10 mins later and put spot light in neighbors house. Police are at a house behind us…I’m sure tracker has something to do with anything that took place tonight. Very suspicious to me.
Same car drove past our house again tonight around one and pulled into neighbors driveway and stopped, backed up and continued up hill. Feel like they are dropping people off and picking them up later on.

Are you sure that’s where the dog lives?

I would like it if people obeyed the rules and did not walk their dogs on the public beach every morning!!

I have a meeting set up for next week with the Sheriff’s Dept. I will let everyone know how it goes!
We used to have Neighborhood Watch signs throughout the subdivision. Most of them appear to have been stolen.

Passed our house a second time and slowed down again
